Welcome to Hillcombe Farm

Hillcombe Farm nestles on the eastern side of the Blackdown Hills and is a specialist pedigree Red Devon breeding farm where the Bagnell Herd are located.

Red Ruby Devon cattle are beautiful, docile animals. They are hardy and tolerate extremes of climate and are a great choice for conservation grazing as recommended by Natural England. The meat from these animals is tender and is unrivalled in texture and flavour. Red Ruby Devons are not only hardy and easy to manage but they are excellent, easy-calving, milky mothers.

Red Ruby Devon cattle originated in North Devon in the UK, but there are also large herds in New Zealand, Australia, Brazil and the USA, where they were first imported by the original settlers.

The Bagnell Herd has stock of the highest quality and breeds foundation stock for other Red Devon breeders.
